Aminatou Haidar Under house arrest

Laayoune(occupied territories) , Jan 2, 2010 (SPS) – 15 days after her return to her country , Saharawi human rights activist ,Aminatou haidar, is living under a house arrest imposed by Moroccan forces of repression , according to a source from occupied city of Laayoune.

Her house is surrounded from four sides and the neighborhoods and streets close to her house are completely full of police, gendarmerie and Moroccan security services, to prevent Saharawis from visiting her to congratulate her after returning home without any conditions, the source added.

Moroccan authorities in November 14, 2009, fired, Aminatou, from her occupied homeland (Western Sahara) to Spain, because of her political opinions that demanding the self-determination and independence for the Saharawi people and her peaceful campaigns against Moroccan violations of human rights in Western Sahara.

after a hunger strike in a Spanish airport of Lantharoti for 32 days and a pressure on Morocco by UN, organizations ,centers, personalities and countries around the world , She return to her city Laayoune in Dec18,2009.

"The siege is continuing. I am under house arrest. Family members and neighbours have problems visiting me. Shops in my neighbourhood are suffering from the siege," Haidar told Reuters by telephone days after her return.

The exist of hundreds members of Security forces and security procedures days and nights in addition to prevent Saharawi human rights defenders and foreign correspondents from visit Haidar's house denote that Moroccan authorities are putting the area under state of alert , Said the same source .(SPS)
